Tishman Speyer entered the European market in 1988. Since then, we have acquired, developed and operated a portfolio of over 61 properties in major European markets. Signature properties include MesseTurm, known to many as the symbol of the city of Frankfurt; Berlin’s Sony Center; Frankfurt’s OpernTurm; London’s Tower Place; and Lumière and CBX Tower in Paris.
Tishman Speyer expanded its operations into Brazil in 1995. We currently have more than 21 projects in pre-development, construction or operation. Our presence began with the successful completion of Torre Norte in São Paulo, a city landmark considered to be one of the finest commercial buildings in Latin America.
Tishman Speyer entered the Chinese market in 2006, investing principally in international-quality Class A office, residential and mixed-use properties in major high-growth urban centers and select secondary cities. We currently have 5 commercial, residential, retail and mixed-use projects located in Shanghai, Chengdu and Suzhou, comprising more than 18 million square feet, including approximately 3,300 residential units. A recent notable achievement is The Springs at New Jiang Wan Town, a 9.7-million-square-foot mixed-used development now under construction, that is the largest land deal in Shanghai’s history.
Tishman Speyer entered the dynamic markets of India in 2006, committed to developing high-quality office, residential and mixed-use projects in major Indian cities. In June 2010, Tishman Speyer commissioned its first building in Asia, at the WaveRock project in Hyderabad, which is an IT/ITeS SEZ project. In January 2014, Tishman Speyer commissioned its second building in the Waverock complex with subsequent development projected to commence over the next two quarters. The Tishman Speyer India Fund has made investments in Hyderabad, Chennai and Gurgaon.
