Tishman Speyer buys Pressehaus on Alexanderplatz

Tishman Speyer has purchased the Pressehaus on Berlin's Alexanderplatz for the Value-add Fonds European Real Estate Ventures VII. The vendor of the building with a total renting space of 27.500 square metres is the media concern Bertelsmann. After the current tenants has vacated the property, as of mid 2017 the building will be extensively refurbished.
The building on KarlLiebknechtStraße 29 in Berlin's quarter Mitte has the status of a historical monument since 2015 and is the connecting link between Alexanderplatz and the Scheunenviertel respectively the Spandauer Vorstadt at its rear side. Florian Reiff, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer declares: “The Pressehaus, located on Alexanderplatz is one of the few larger objects with office facilities available at short notice in the highly dynamic location of Berlin Mitte. Therefore we are looking forward to repositioning the property with modern and attractive office space and accordingly having the opportunity for an active contribution to sustainably shape the design of the quarter around the area of Alexanderplatz.”

The fund Tishman Speyer European Real Estate Ventures VII was raised at the beginning of 2015 and is being invested into properties in Frankfurt, Berlin, London and Paris.
