Tishman Speyer Announces Lease at Commonwealth Tower

Tishman Speyer announced today that EADS North America has signed a lease agreement for approximately 39,000 square feet at Commonwealth Tower in Arlington, Va. The tenant is taking the building’s sixth floor immediately, and will lease a portion of the ninth floor beginning in January 2011.

EADS North America is the holding company for the U.S. operations of the world’s second-largest aerospace and defense firm. It is a leading supplier and industrial partner in defense and homeland security, commercial aviation, helicopters and telecommunications. The company is expanding from space it currently leases at a nearby property.

Jeff Groh and Michael Blyumin of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant in the transaction announced today. Tony Womack and Brooks Brown of Tishman Speyer represented building ownership.

The 15-story, 360,139-square-foot Commonwealth Tower is located in the heart of the Rosslyn section of Arlington, providing it with exceptional access to downtown Washington, D.C. The property is situated near Route 50, the George Washington Parkway, I-66 and Route 110, and is one-half block from the Orange/Blue Line, Rosslyn Metro Station. Tenants enjoy views of the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. skyline. The building was fully renovated in 1996 and features unique symmetrical floor plates that allow for eight corner offices per floor, an on-site fitness center and a full-service restaurant.
