Leasing Surges at Tishman Speyer’s Midtown Atlanta Properties

Total of 155,000 sf Signed at Midtown Plaza and Colony Square in First Quarter

Tishman Speyer said today that it has signed 21 leases totaling 155,000 square feet so far in 2014 at its Midtown Plaza and Colony Square properties. The transactions include a 46,000-square-foot agreement at Midtown Plaza with new tenant Purchasing Power and a 32,000-square-foot renewal and expansion with FOX Sports at Colony Square. The strong First Quarter activity follows on the heels of 170,000 square feet of leases signed at the properties during the second half of 2013.

Purchasing Power is a fast-growing online retailer offering specialty consumer products and services through employers. The property’s newest tenant is expected to relocate by August 2014.

The Atlanta base for FOX Sports, the umbrella entity representing 21st Century FOX’s wide array of multi-platform U.S.-based sports media assets, has called Colony Square its home since 1997.

Midtown Plaza, which features two towers totaling 33 stories was built in the mid-1980s and renovated extensively in 2009. It is strategically located in the heart of Atlanta’s Central District at the intersection of 17th and Peachtree Streets, which is considered the “gateway” to the Midtown submarket, and stands within the prestigious Arts Center district. The property offers an array of exceptional amenities to serve its tenants and guests, ease of access to several restaurants and hotels, and direct access to Midtown’s Arts Center MARTA Station and amenity-filled Atlantic Station.

Colony Square, a landmark mixed-use complex containing 46 stories of office space that also overlooks Peachtree Street, offers its tenants a multitude of uses, including spacious offices, luxurious condominiums, Midtown’s W Hotel and an attractive retail mall. Like Midtown Plaza, tenants have excellent access to the entirety of Atlanta by rail or car. Being located at the intersection of 14th and Peachtree Streets, the complex is within walking distance of Atlanta’s Cultural Arts Center, including the High Museum of Art, the Woodruff Arts Center, Symphony Hall and Piedmont Park. The complex is also a short drive from the intersection of I-75/I-85.
